Pomme kangourou de Tasmanie ; Kangaroo-apple, Tasmanian Kangaroo Apple, poroporo
Solanum laciniatum is a softwood shrub native to the east coast of Australia, particularly Victoria and Tasmania. It also occurs in Western Australia[1] and New Zealand, similar to Solanum aviculare, with which it shares the common name kangaroo apple. The common name refers to the resemblance of the leaf shape to a kangaroo paw print. This plant is currently grown to produce corticosteroids.
Plant of 2 to 3 m, evergreen leaves, flowers from June to October. Frost free from -5°C but very easy to cut or sow. WARNING: the green and not fully ripe fruits are poisonous. Ovoid shape, 2 to 4 cm long.
All of our TessGruun heirloom seeds are pure, meaning they are not hybrid, free of chemical treatment, non-GMO and poison free.
