Batavia lettuce Batavia Blonde de Paris BIO De Bolster (1840)
Batavia lettuce 'Blonde de Paris' is an intermediate type of cabbage lettuce and iceberg lettuce. The leaves are crispy and sweet. Batavia lettuce is easier to grow than common iceberg lettuce. The leaf resembles that of batavia lettuce.
Blonde de Paris' has a fairly short growth time (6 to 8 weeks) and it is therefore important to prick out/plant the plants in a young stage. Lettuce is especially tasty when you do not fertilise too much. If you want to eat lettuce every week, sow/plant it regularly. By placing part of the lettuce a little closer together and harvesting earlier, you can suffice with 1 seed per 3 to 4 weeks.
TIP: also suitable as a babyleaf (sowing period: May-August)!
