Gherkin Hokus BIO De Bolster (1030)
Gherkin 'Hokus' is a green-coloured gherkin variety that can also be grown outdoors as long as the area is sheltered and well fertilised.
Cultivating vertically, e.g. along ropes, takes a lot of extra labour! Gherkins are often pre-sown in pots or containers at the end of April. Sowing on the spot from mid-May is possible provided it is sufficiently warmed up. A good planting distance is 150 x 40 cm. To keep the crop in check, the tendrils can be traced back or pruned. The plants are sensitive to frost.
