The pitaya also known as pitahaya or dragon fruit is the fruit of several cactus species, especially of the genera Hylocereus and Selenicereus. Flowering occurs as night falls These plants are native to Mexico, Central America and South America.  The pitayas can be cut and scooped out. The seeds can be eaten with them.

Germinates very easily, no pre-treatment is needed. Directly in substrate, without burying the seeds, just lightly press them into the substrate, watering is done from below by submerging the pot in a container with a little water, so the pot absorbs water from below, so the seeds do not get buried.

Pitahaya seeds need light to germinate, but not direct sun, they should be kept out of the sun until they germinate, it can take 2 to 3 weeks for them to germinate.
