Celeriac Roem van Zwijndrecht BIO De Bolster (1410)

ZWKDB1410 Celeriac Roem van Zwijndrecht BIO De Bolster (1410)

Celeriac 'Roem van Zwijndrecht' forms a tuber with a diameter of about ten cm and is smaller than the most common celeriac. It has a long growth period and in the final stage, when the tuber needs to grow, the plant needs to have sufficient nutrients at its disposal.

This requires a strong, preferably humous soil. A scoop of compost in the planting hole works very well. Sow indoors in April in a container in a warm place (approx. 20°C). After approx. 1 month prick out in pots or place temporarily in a greenhouse or flat container, then plant in the garden. Plant out in the garden from the 2nd half of May at 50 x 40 cm. Light up at the end of October, shake off some soil, cut off the outer leaves and bury them together, the tuber just below ground. Cover in case of frost. Frost free silage is also possible, then remove all the leaves.
