Canestrino, also known as 'Canestrini', 'Conestrino Di Lucca' or 'Little Basket', is a tomato variety that originated in Italy. The pear-shaped, heavily ribbed fruits grow to an average weight of 100 to 150g and an average height and diameter of 7cm. They ripen to a red colour over a period of about 70 to 73 days.
The tomatoes have a few seeds and a delicious taste. They are mainly used in sauces and hot dishes.
