Iceberg lettuce Saladin BIO De Bolster (1850)

ZBLDB1850 Iceberg lettuce Saladin BIO De Bolster (1850)

Iceberg lettuce 'Saladin' is an iceberg lettuce with a medium to large head. The leaves are thick and crispy. Saladin is not sensitive to shooting, but is less suitable for autumn cultivation.

Cultivating iceberg lettuce is a little more difficult than growing other varieties, but that can also be a challenge. Iceberg lettuce is on average a little sweeter. Iceberg lettuce has a longer growth period (2 weeks) than other slat varieties. Iceberg lettuce requires good fertilization and sufficient moisture.

If you want to eat lettuce every week, you have to sow/plant it regularly. Sowing in the garden can be started from April onwards. A usual planting distance is 30x30 cm. By placing part of the lettuce a little closer together and harvesting earlier, you can suffice with 1 seed per 3 to 4 weeks.

TIP: also suitable as a babyleaf (sowing period: May-August)!
