Lettuce Lollo Rossa is a fast growing red brown curly lettuce with very decorative and soft leaves. Because of the plant type (not very crawling), natural enemies such as parasitic wasps and ladybirds can better attack aphids. All lettuce varieties are easy to grow. Lettuce has a short growing period (6 to 8 weeks) and it is therefore important to prick out/replant the plants at a young stage. Lettuce is especially tasty when you do not fertilize too much. If you want to eat lettuce every week, you should sow/plant it regularly. The first sowing in a greenhouse can already take place in February, in the open ground from mid-March. By bringing part of the lettuce closer together and harvesting it earlier, you can suffice with 1 seed every 3 to 4 weeks. Plant out at 35x35 cm. The harvest is 2 to 3 months after sowing. Shoot quickly. Sow in a greenhouse mid-January - February Sow in the garden mid-March - until the end of August.
