Black Cherry, also known as 'Cerise Noire', is a tomato variety that originated in the United States. The small, round fruits grow in bunches of 10 to 12 to a weight of about 20 to 25g. They ripen to a dark red to black colour over a period of about 65 to 70 days. This variety can survive well in colder climates and is quite resistant to diseases.
The juicy tomatoes with brown flesh have a delicious taste with a nice balance between sweet and sour. They are mainly used in salads and cold dishes.
