Moringa Oleifera, also known as the Drumstick Tree or Miracle Tree, is a plant native to India and the Arab region. The plant owes its name to the long hanging seed pods.
It is a beautiful, small, graceful, deciduous tree that can grow up to 8m high in ideal conditions. The leaves are compound and pinnate shaped. The flowers have a sweet smell.
This plant is also widely cultivated for food in developing countries. The leaves, seeds and flowers are a good source of vitamins and proteins. Moringa Oleifera was formerly also known for medicinal use.
The plant is drought-resistant, loves dry, sandy soils and grows quickly.
